Hello from the sunny Montenegro! It’s 95+ degrees here daily, zero chance of rain and a whole lot of sun! Today we spent the entire day exploring the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), the prettiest island Perast and Tivat (Porto Montenegro), ate at the best restaurant, stopped for some crepes and of course ice cream! The food, oh the food from the grill is the best here. Here are some photos from our adventures.
Kotor, Montenegro
Am I making you want to visit our Motherhland? The place is breathtaking! Let me share some history of this beautiful place, which you may have read in my Instagram posts.
Montenegro has a beautiful Adriatic cost. Its popular coastal towns like Budva (more to come in another post soon) and Kotor, have beautiful resorts. Their luxury blends well with a fascinating nature of Montenegro. It has long beaches, mountains, canyons and fjords – everything in one place for a relaxing and adventurous vacation.
The Bay of Kotor is sometimes referred to as the southernmost fjord in Europe. Besides of its natural beauty, it also has an Old Town, which is included in UNESCO Natural and Cultural list.
Through the entire city the buildings are criss-crossed with narrow streets and squares. One of these squares contains the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon (Sveti Tripun), a monument of Roman culture and one of the most recognisable symbols of the city.
Perast, Montenegro
Perast is a sleepy baroque place near Kotor. The most beautiful buildings of this small city were built in the 17th and 18th centuries. At that time seafaring was growing and captains built magnificent villas that even today capture you with their beauty. Perast is a quiet and peaceful place. It abounds in sacred monuments, such as the Church of Saint Nicola (Sveti Nikola) built between the 15th and 17th centuries, the Parish church build in 1740, the island in front of Perast where the church Saint George (Sveti Djordje) from the 12th century is located, and the Church of Our Lady of the Rock (Gospa od Skrpjela) build in 1630, a church built in the baroque style on top of an artificial island.
Thank you for stopping by, and keep following for more snippets from our adventures.
