How I tackle Christmas Shopping with Kids
If you are like me and always have your little ones with you, then you’ll find this post helpful. I am so used to going everywhere with all three now that it’s become second nature to me. It’s not easy, nobody ever said it would be but I like to make the best of it.Which is why I wanted to share a few tips on tackling that Christmas shopping with your kids, that shopping that you didn’t finish for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, that is.
As you scroll through our photos you’ll see that we did a little bit of everything and not just shopping. And, that’s the key. You have to make it fun for them too. We went on the carousel, and got some treats at Starbucks, walked around. Then we did some more shopping.
We then had lunch at the mall cafe, lucky for us they have our fave places too! After lunch we did some more shopping. We hit three different stores.
Then we went to see Santa and the boys were over the moon excited to wave to Santa. They also picked up some festive hats from Santa. Right after that we visited another store and picked up a few things. Also, keep them involved in the picking process. That will keep them from running around and knocking things over. Even if you don’t take what they pick, make them feel involved. I always ask them to find a particular color for me.
Of course, I cannot finish all the shopping with them but having fun while shopping is the key to survival with kids. I also promised them if they are good we would go on the carousel again. And they were. So we went again. It’s all about balance.
Anastasija took a nap in the stroller while the boys played at the mall playground and I finished my coffee.
Another thing to keep reminding yourself is to stay calm and have patience. The key is to have fun, and let them have fun. This will make for one successful shopping trip, visit to the mall.
And mama, when all else fails, leave them with dad and shop by yourself :))
