How to Style your Spring Trench Coat

Hi lovelies! It’s been really cold here in Chicago, and just when you think it cannot get colder it does. But, I have my mind set on Spring and my closet as well. I am slowly tucking away Winter stuff, and pulling out everything that brings me Spring vibes. Today, I wanted to share a very simple and easy outfit for all my busy mamas, and anyone in general. I say busy mamas, because we often forget how easy an outfit can be, and how quickly we can look put together.

So, my number one must have for Spring is…. you guessed it! A trench coat.

I think I am going on a whim here to say that a trench coat will take you from Winter to Spring instantly. And, that everyone needs one in their closet. It’s really a must have, in my opinion.

I also think that no matter the kind of a day you’re having, and the kind of an outfit you find yourself in for school drop off, quick run to the grocery store, or coffee run – when you put on a trench coat over that outfit it brings it to another level.

This may sound silly to you but how easy of an outfit is a tshirt, jeans and ankle booties. It really doesn’t get easier than that. You could even pair the tshirt and jeans with your fave sneakers and throw on a trench coat and you’ll be all set. It’s minimal effort on your part, but a game changer.

Break out of your regular routine mamas! Hide those things that your mind is drawn to wear every single day, and put on an outfit together for tomorrow – for wherever the day takes you.

This simple outfit is a game changer. Adding earrings makes me feel even more put together. And, some lipstick. Your favorite bag, or diaper bag depending on where you’re headed to. And voila! Motherhood can be chic too. You just have to put a little effort in it.

Wondering what I did in this outfit? I went grocery shopping, had a coffee date, dropped my son off at school, washed my car, visited my parents, went shopping – not all in the same day, of course. But, you get the point. I love outfits like this that I can take from coffee date to play date to office, really.
