Hi loves, happy Tuesday! I recently tried Beautycounter makeup and have been hooked since!
Why I switched to Beautycounter?
I know you’re wondering why all of a sudden I decided to try non-toxic makeup, and I’ll get into that right of away. The truth is I have been wanting to try non-toxic makeup for a while now, but I wanted to do some research first. Among all the research, I have been following Amanda from @littlesouthernwife on Instagram for over a year now, and her posts are inspiring, encouraging, life changing to say the least. I saw her using Beautycounter, and it encouraged me to try it. I don’t have a good reason why I just tried it now, and not months ago but I did. I always worry about my skin and the effects makeup has on it, that non-toxic makeup sounded like a good idea. And, I am so glad I tried it. I was already spending same amount of money on makeup anyways so I figured why not buy makeup that’s good for my skin.
Before switching over to Beautycounter I used It Cosmetics, Laura Gellar and Urban Decay, and I loved all of them. The one thing I never skip on my face is sunscreen, I always apply it before applying makeup, all year round. Personally, I feel like you can hide almost everything on your body that you don’t like, well maybe not my double chin haha! But, your face is always the first impression and you cannot hide that, which is why I want to protect it as much as possible.
I am not here to tell you one thing is better than other, or that you should throw out all your makeup and get Beautycounter – not at all. I just wanted to share how I get ready everyday, the products I use and why I switched to Beautycounter. But if you ever get concerned with the ingredients in your makeup products, research them to see what it says. Beautycounter uses clean ingredients.
I switched my makeup products but my morning routine has been the same for a while now. In fact morning make-up routine is pretty much the same every day of the week. This is my “day” face, if I can say it like that. I wear makeup most of the time, and just like the way I love my nails painted always I love my makeup.
Up until recently I used mainly It Cosmetics with the exception of a few drug store products. I love It Cosmetics, but when I discovered Beautycounter I was intrigued to try non-toxic makeup. I started with their lipstick and this Sunrise Dessert palette, which has eye shadows and three blushes. I shared this a few weeks ago with you all on stories too.
I loved the palette and lipstick so much that I decided to buy the rest of the products. I just got this Transforming Duo to try as well, and love it!
This palette is no longer available, this was during the Holidays. But, this palette and this separate blush are very similar if not the same.
morning makeup routine
getting ready in 5 minutes or less every morning
Okay, so let’s get back to the routine. I have a built in skin regimen for every morning – wash my face, apply eye and face moisturizer and then makeup.
This is the make-up routine I do when dropping V off at school, going for a coffee date with bestie, running errands on my own or with kiddos, heading to the park, basically this is my every day look. And to be honest, I takes me five minutes to do all this not including my skin regimen, which is like three minutes. My hair adds another 10 minutes of its own, on days when I don’t wash it, then brushing my teeth, and all, I think I take about 20 minutes in the morning for myself to get ready fully including putting on an outfit.
Beautycounter
Foundation
I am using the Beautycounter Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation in linen and I just got the Dew Skin tinted moisturizer in No. 3 to try as well. I apply the foundation with this retractable brush, which is a must. Honestly, don’t buy the foundation if you won’t get the brush. I bought them together but the brush was on back order, so I applied the foundation with another brush and even tried with just my fingers and didn’t like it. The brush makes all the difference.
Concealer
I then add this concealer in light to under the eyes, and any red spots on my face. I blend with the same retractable brush.
Pressed Powder
I then add this mattyfing powder to set in the makeup. Press, don’t sweep. I don’t think I have ever done foundation without adding pressed powder.
Eyebrows
I fill and shape my eyebrows with this brow pencil in light and then add the eye brow gel. I always like to shape my eyebrows first, then fill them in then add the brow gel. This probably takes the most of my morning makeup routine because I need to make sure my eyebrows are even.
This eye brow gel is everything. This is in light color.
Eyeshadow & Blush
I then use this palette and add the second light eye shadow from the left, which I totally forgot to clean off before taking photos. Oops blogger fail. But, at least you can see I use it. Also, I add blush. Most of the time I use the blush in the middle.
One thing I’d like to point out is that I bought Beautycounter makeup as I ran out of or was running out my current products. And, I have been using their products for over a month now. The lipstick and the palette I have had since December. Next thing on my list to buy is their charcoal bar, cleansing balm, and another eyeshadow palette.
Beautycounter has a set called Flawless in Five and I think it would be a great start for anyone wanting to try their make-up and be in fact, flawless in five.
Also, these hair clips in the photos are the cutest thing ever and they were an Amazon find! I am linking them here for you – you get 4 for under $10.
Ps I want to disclaim that I am not a Beautycounter representative, and that the links provided are not affiliate, besides the hair clips found on Amazon.
Also, there is a quick makeup tutorial in my stories of how I put on my makeup every morning. So be sure to check that out, and get a good laugh at all the face expressions I make haha!

I will definitely be giving these products a try! Only needing 5 minutes to do the entire routine is a big plus with 2 littles running around!
