Our bedroom is a complete vibe. It has the elements of warm wood, neutrals and some contrast with darker pieces. All the colors were pulled from the rug to make the perfect, welcoming design.
Your bedroom should be a sanctuary, a place of retreat. Create a bedroom you will never want to leave, a bedroom that brings you joy. Don’t be afraid to mix metals, different tones and patterns.

The goal was to create a calming bedroom that radiates interest. Here are the ways I achieved that.
Adding Warmth using Wood Tones
Our hardwood floors bring in enough of warmth that the contrasting colors balance out so well.

Adding Curtains to the Windows
We have the most perfect amount of natural light streaming through these windows and I wanted to keep it that way. Hence why I opted for the sheer curtains and placed them at the end of each window. The trick is to add panels to each window as if it was a standalone window. All this natural light allows for the colors to pop perfectly.
Curtain Details
Curtains are from @ikeausa
GJERTRUD Curtains
BETYDLIG wall/ceiling bracket
SYRLIG curtain ring with clip & hook 1 1/2”
HUGAD curtain rod 47-83”
RAFFIG finials
Each window has its own rod. I used the SY iron-on hemming tape to hem my curtains (the no sew option), and the JALL ironing board.
Pro tip: Hang your curtains as high and as wide as possible for the most dramatic effect. It creates a beautiful silhouette and makes the space feel bigger.

Our bed is the most asked about piece in our bedroom, and it is hands down the most versatile bed you can get. It works well with any wood tone you may pick, and compliments your bedding in the most perfect way.

You don’t have to constantly change decor in your bedroom. If you love the way something is, keep it that way. It’s your bedroom, and it should make you happy.

Wall Paint
The wall color is Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams.

Choosing the right Rug size
When choosing a rug for your bedroom, make sure it’s the right size otherwise it can make the whole room feel off. We have a king size bed with a 8’4” x 11’6” tucked more than half way underneath the bed.
The simple rule is if you have a king size bed a 9×12 rug would be ideal and tucked in almost completely under the bed. However, we have wall limitation on one side, and the shape of the wall would limit to a smaller rug. I did not want a wall to wall rug, so I opted for this size. In my personal opinion, I think it is the perfect size.
Pro tip: If in doubt always go bigger.

Creating a Vignette
We had this extra space in our bedroom and I envisioned a little sitting area here. These chairs are by far one of my favorite finds. They are such good quality and can compliment any area in your home.
We have the boucle version too and soon I’ll share a blog post how I have styled them in our family room, but until then you can see them here.
I love having my coffee here!

I am loving your dresser and nightstands. Does the color have much red in it? I am looking for a nice light brown color. Love your style!
Thank you so much! There is no red in it at all. It’s a very nice light brown color, more neutral and appears to give an unfinished look. You can see more if you follow me on Instagram @mrs.vesnatanasic as I share it often.
