We are coming up on two year anniversary in our home and we are finally getting around to furnishing our Basement and making it feel cozy. We have a full finished basement with a kitchen, game room, changing room, laundry, bathroom, home gym and its own mudroom. While I am still working on finding the perfect pieces I wanted to show you the progress.

Here is our kitchen in the basement. It’s such a beautiful all black cabinet kitchen with stainless steel appliances. It was well thought out and beautifully designed. I have yet to find the perfect counter stools for our island.

This is the sitting area right in front of the changing room. I wanted to create a space that felt welcoming as you walk down the stairs to the basement and these chairs from were perfect. I partnered with Castlery and they gifted me these beautiful boucle chairs.

This is our changing room in the basement. I wanted to create a cozy bedroom here and the Rochelle bed from Castlery was perfect! I love the boucle fabric and the headboard design. I had to get a little creative with nightstands as there wasn’t much room left here but these beautiful Studio McGee stools transformed into perfect version of nightstands. And, this rug is so soft, cloud like and the pattern is just beautiful. To finish the room, I added some accent pieces like these glass lamps, throw pillows, mirror and basket.

This is our cozy movie area with a fireplace. We have black built-ins around the fireplace and they are amazing for storage. When designing this space I wanted to keep it neutral and also warm using beige, brown and adding some contrast with leather chairs. These chairs are such great quality and so beautiful. I partnered with Edloe Finch and they gifted me the chairs.

We have a full bathroom in the basement. I love the modern design of the cabinets and the traditional wall moulding. The black bathroom cabinets match the black kitchen cabinets.
Next, I plan on working on our home gym. I really want to create an at home home gym that feels motivating to workout. I have a vision of adding mirrors to one wall in the gym area so we will see if that happens. And I will be on a hunt to find a round table to create a little dining nook next to the kitchen, and counter stools for our island.
